EPA Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Certification Refresher
Common renovation, repair, and painting activities that disturb lead-based paint (like sanding, cutting, replacing windows, and more) can release hazardous lead which can be harmful to adult and children.
The EPA’s Lead Renovation, Repair & Painting Final Rule (40 CFR 745) requires that renovations conducted for compensation be performed by “Certified firm” using “Certified Renovators”.
This is especially important for renovation firms that work in homes or other child occupied facilities that were built prior to 1978.
Common renovation, repair, and painting activities can create hazardous lead dust and chips which can be very dangerous to occupants especially children. Home repairs that create even a small amount of lead dust are enough to put the occupants at risk.
The Safety Links Lead Renovation, Repair & Painting courses will teach you how to comply with the EPA RRP rule and the HUD Lead Safe Housing Rule.
